Before you get in touch
The things homeowners most often ask us at the first visit.
Do I need planning permission for an extension?
Many single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development, but it depends on the size, the property and any previous work. We'll tell you at the site visit whether you're likely to need full planning or a lawful development certificate, and we can work with an architect to prepare drawings.
Who deals with building control?
We do. We arrange inspections at each stage and make sure you receive the completion certificate at the end of the job.
How long before you can start?
It varies with the season and the size of the job. When we send the quote we give you a realistic start date and programme.
Can we stay in the house during the work?
For most extensions and renovations, yes. We plan the work to keep the house usable and seal off dust.
How do payments work?
Payments are staged against completed work, set out in the written quote. You never pay for work that hasn't been done.
